Jax's First Snow Adventure

This week when I was over at my parent's house little Ben took a nap.  It was the perfect time for me to take Jax out for his first snow adventure.  Since Ben is so little he really isn't one to love hanging out in the snow.  So, while he took a nap inside with my mom, Jax and I hit the snow.

Earlier that morning Jax pulled a laundry basket up to the window in his bedroom, stood on top of it, and stared out the window.  I felt so bad for him!  He wanted to go outside SO bad.  I knew he had to go out THAT DAY and play in the snow.  so, we got some winter wear and headed to my parents so Ben didn't have to endure the bitter cold with us.

Let's just say JAX WAS IN HEAVEN!!

I love this picture.  It is so cute.  Jax is just taking on the world trudging through the snow.

A man on a mission!!
This big coat makes him look so so small!

I guess this snow isn't all bad.

Christmas 2009

I am well aware that we are approaching February, but I thought it was still okay to post some Christmas pictures - seeing as I haven't yet.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day running from one family event to the next.  It was exhausting, but so wonderful to have both my family and Chase's family so close so we never had to miss any of the fun.
Our little family with Santa.  It seriously blows my mind that our "little" family isn't so little anymore!
Here I am telling Santa (Grandpa Carlson) all my Christmas wishes.
Jax wasn't really all that into opening gifts...even though I tried to force him to think it was cool.  At least he was excited about having new toys even if he couldn't have cared less about ripping open the paper.  And, how adorable is my little niece Charlotte?  I kinda wish she was mine!!
Ben was WAY less scared of Santa than Jax was.  This picture might make it look like he is frightened, but that was not the case.  He was totally content sitting on the lap of a strange looking man!
Jax and Char spent Christmas Eve doing the think they like best - jumping on Grandma and Grandpa's bed and watching Mickey Mouse.   Jax would have given up every one of his gifts just to watch an extra episode of Mickey!
Char, Jax, and Grandma and Grandpa Gunderson
These two are the best grandparents ever!
Here we are in our very festive Christmas pajamas.
I kinda think my family is cute! :)

Well, hope this late Christmas post gets you ready for next year's holiday season!!

7 months

Tomorrow this little guy is 7 months.
Oh, he is adorable!!

I was a little frightened to have 2 boys only 16 months apart.
I can't say that it hasn't been more work than I ever imagined, but it is SO worth it!
Little Ben is such a sweet baby.
I just want to squish him.

I can't believe it has already been 7 months.  Time flies...as soon as the pregnancy ends.
Life is so wonderful right now.

7 months stats:
height: 28 1/2 inches (95th percentile)
weight: 17 lbs. 2oz. (50th percentile)
head circumference: 43 1/2cm (25th percentile)

Jackson Hole

Lask weekend we went with some friends to Jackson Hole.  It was a blast.  It was the first time Chase and I have ever left Jax.  He was a very good boy for his grandma.  Against my wishes, we had to bring Ben.  He loves nursing and REFUSES anything that even resembles a bottle - binky included.  So, he got to join us for the weekend.

He turned out to be a nightmare!!  We lwft Friday evening, and being the smart mom that I am, he got 4 shots Friday morning.  I am pretty sure that didn't help out much!  So, Chase and I ended up leaving a day early.  But, it was still quite the party.

Here we are playing "Nate's Game".  It was a HOOT!!!!
The whole crew eating dinner.  We got to witness quite the domestic dispute by the couple seated next to us.  It really added to the night's entertainment!!
Linzi, Jimmy, Austin, and Andrea
How amazing is the place we stayed?!  Thank you Mike and Julie!!
And, the wonderful host and hostess - Mike and Julie.  They were wonderful!  They got the place and did the grocery shopping.
Jimmy, Chase, and Austin snowmobiling

Such a wonderful weekend.  Next time there will absolutely be NO KIDS!!

Happy New Year!!!
Well, not only did we ring in the new year with some friends, we even stayed up late enough to do it - unlike last year.  We were boring last year.  But this year, we were drinkin' out of our tall glasses at midnight.

Jimmy and Linzi were kind enough to host everyone over at their adorable house.  Every time I go over there I pretty much covet Linzi's adorable decorating skills.  The night was a blast.  If you haven't played "What's Yours Like?"  I highly recommend it.   Sadly, our night ended early because Jax threw up all over Linzi's perfectly clean house...sorry Linzi!
Chase and I ringing in 2010.  Yeah baby!!

Andrea and Austin
Jimmy and Austin - you can tell this was SERIOUS business.
Julie and Mike
Linzi and Jimmy - our wonderful hosts.
Angie and Korey - the newlyweds!!  So cute.

*Thanks for the pictures Andrea! :)

one BIG happy family

This Christmas the whole fam dam was together. This doesn't happen all that often. So, of course my mom took advantage of the photo. I can't believe how much my family has grown in the last few years. It is crazy!!! Sadly, Katie, Tim and baby Zac had to leave back to LA. But, it was fun while it lasted!

Christmas was merry!

I don't have any pictures to prove it because Jax so sweetly broke my camera on Christmas Eve, and apparently Santa wasn't on the ball to have a new one for me Christmas morning.  Thus, we are pictureless.  But, Jax's excitement for new toys and absolute FEAR of Santa made the season bright!

2009 was a wonderful year.
We welcomed our new little baby Ben into the family.
Chase graduated from college.
Jax became an adorable toddler.

But, I must say that I am happily going to say goodbye to 2009 and welcome 2010 with open arms.
It is a good time for a fresh start.

With the new year comes my resolutions.  I am usually not good with these.  But, this year is going to be different.  I am going to make resolutions worth keeping.  While losing ten pounds would be wonderful (and needed), I have had that resolution too many times to count.  So, this year's resolutions are going to be worth keeping.

--Read Jesus the Christ

--Read the Book of Mormon

--Exercise more!!  (Half marathon coming up this summer)

Yep.  That's it.  I am sticking with 3.  This way, I will remember what my resolutions are.  I can't do the whole long list of twenty resolutions thing.  My mind just won't remember that list.  So, for 2010 all I am going to worry about are these three resolutions.
